Dieting
Your chiropractor is trained in nutrition and how diet affects your health and well-being. To Dr. Germain, nutrition comprises more than simply eating three meals a day. The chiropractic profession views nutrition as the materials needed to maintain your health, and includes the vitamins, mineral, and tissue building quality of what you eat. Some foods should be avoided, while others consumed more frequently. You should consult your chiropractor directly for your specific nutrient requirements, but there is a general list to consider.
You should avoid:
- Smoking and Alcohol
- White refined sugar and candy
- Junk Food” and empty calories
- Caffeine, found in coffee and cola drinks
- Salt and foods high in salt content
You should increase your intake of:
- Water
- Fruits and Vegetables
- Whole grain breads and cereal
- Lean cut red meats
- Fish and Poultry
- Skin Milk and low fat dairy products
Remember, your specific condition may require special dietary requirements, consult Back To Balance Wellness Center to learn more.

I have worked out at the gym and played tennis for many years without any type of physical problem. Then in April I began to experience tingling from my neck/shoulder down my left arm to my hand. The tingling/pain increased as months went by so I made an appointment with my orthopedic. I went through nerve tests, epidural shots in my upper spine, and physical therapy but the tingling/pain remained, and in fact, worsened. I was getting frustrated so I finally decided to see a chiropractor, and I found Matt Germain on the internet. His website intrigued me because he offered alternative treatments such as laser therapy, use of Therapain spray, as well as the standard chiropractor treatments. After a few weeks of treatment by Matt, I noticed a reduction in the intensity and frequency of the tingling/pain I had been experiencing. By the end of a few months the tingling was gone and my shoulder and neck felt great! I have to admit I was skeptical, but the effectiveness of his methods and the professionalism Matt displayed were awesome. I am now back to working out and playing tennis without any pain. I recomend Matt Germain to anyone who is suffering and wants to get relief from an excellent, caring chiropractor.
